An action that takes place in
the present time.
Exam:I eat.

What is past Tense?[অতীত কালে কোনো কাজ ]
An action that took place in
the past time.
Exam:I went to school.
What is future Tense?[à¦à¦¬িষৎ কালে কোনো কাজ ]
An action will take place in
the future time.
Exam:I shall go to school.
Each of the tenses has four parts:
Indefinite

⧭Present:বর্তমান
⧪Present Indefinite Tense:(সাধারণ বর্তমান কাল )
It denotes an action in
present form, habitual truth, eternal truth or universal truth,[s/es is added
to the verb if the subject is third person singular number]
Structure:
Subject +verb+ object
Exam: I eat rice [I -1ST
person] / He eats rice
[he-3rd person]/The sun rises in the east.
⧪Present Continuous:(ঘটমান বর্তমান কাল )
It is used when an action is
continued.
Structure:
Subject+ am, is, are+ verb+
ing+ object.
Exam; I am
going to school./She is dancing /They are working together.
⧪Present Perfect:(পুরাঘটিত বর্তমান কাল)
It is used when the work has
been finished now but its effect lasts.
Structure:
Subject + has/have+ verb[past
participle form of verb]
Exam: You have done your homework/He has gone to Kolkata.
Exam: You have done your homework/He has gone to Kolkata.
⧪Present Perfect Continuous:(পুরাঘটমান বর্তমান কাল)
It is used to show an action
started in the past and has continued up to the present moment. It is also
called Present perfect progressive.
Structure:
Subject + has been/have
been+verb+ing.
Exam: I have been waiting for
you.
⧭Past: অতীত
⧪Past Indefinite:
Past Indefinite tense is used
when the work was done in the past.
Structure:
Subject + past form of verb.
Exam: I did the homework./ I
went to school.
⧪Past Continuous:
It is used when the work was
continued for a period in the past.
Structure:
Subject + was/were +
verb+ing.
Exam: I was drawing a
picture./We were doing this work.
⧪Past Perfect:
It is used in the former
action between two actions of the past.These two clauses of actions are joined
by before or after.
Structure:
Subject + had +verb[ past
participle form]+object +before/after+ 2nd subject + verb[past form]
Exam: They had gone before he
came./The patient had died before the doctor came.
⧪Past Perfect Continuous:
It is used to show an action
started in the past and continued up to another point in the past.
Structure:
Subject+ had been+ verb+ing.
Exam: I had been working when
he came./It had been raining all night.

⧪Future Indefinite:
It is used when a doer will
do a work in the future.
Structure:
Subject + shall/will+verb.
Exam: I shall go to
market./He will wait for you
⧪Future Continuous:
It is used when a doer will
be doing the work for some time.
Structure:
Subject + shall-
be/will-be+verb+ing
Exam:I shall be doing the
work./She will be waiting for you.
⧪Future Perfect:
It is used when the doer will have done the work before
another work is performed.
Structure:
Subject + shall have/will
have+ verb [ past participle form]
Exam:I shall have finished my
work before my father comes.
⧪Future Perfect Continuous:
It is used when the doer will
have been doing the work in future before another work is performed.Later work
is expressed in simple present tense.
Structure:
Subject + shall have
been/will have been + verb +ing.
Exam: I shall have been doing
the work before my father came.
